SO YOU ARE THINKING OF JOINING A BOWLS CLUB?

Evington Park Bowls Club could be the one for you.  Based in Evington Park in the Old Evington Village its site is recognised as being one of the most attractive Bowls venues.

We are presently a mixed club with Forty members, both Female and Male.  The majority of our members are retired.

The club provides:-

  • Coaching for new members – four registered coaches.
  • Organised friendly matches against other clubs. (Three a week but play in as many or as few as you like)
  • Competitive league matches against other Park Clubs (Once a week)
  • A large number of internal club competitions for ladies, men and mixed matches.
  • Friendly “roll up” games on Monday evenings with coaching available. Most players start here!

The Costs:-

  • No membership fee for your first year (Usually £30)
  • You will require a Parks season ticket to play in matches (Approx. £48 for members over 60 years – double for those under 60).
  • Kit?
    • Most games are in Whites i.e. white or grey flat soled shoes grey trousers or skirts and club shirt (Price £20). However, some games and the finals of club competitions are played in WHITES i.e. same as GREYS but with white trousers or skirts.
    • Of course you will need a set of bowls!  The Club can lend you some at the start but it is best to have your own as then you can be sure to get the right size, weight and bias for your game – talk to the coaches.  Second hand bowls are readily available and can get you started for about £40
    • The game is nice in the sun but is also played in the cold and wet so you may need to invest in some water proofs and fleeces!
