The Evington Club achieved success in the Bowls Leicestershire Ladies Patrons Day with Linda Lord winning this event. Congratulations to Linda. In other competitions Evington had to settle for the runners-up position. In the LC&DPBA Bramley Bowl the Evington team reached the final which was against Thurmaston and played at Abbey Park on July 10th. Evington won the triples but lost the singles, pairs and fours. The next final was that for the Northe East Triples League Cup, a knock-out competition. The Evington triples team played against Thurmaston in the final at Spinney Hill park on August 2nd. Unfortunately, this was another narrow defeat with Evington losing by 2 points. Finally, in the Triples League Evington secured second place by the narrowest of margins. Three points were needed in the final match on September3rd, against Rushey Mead, to secure second place and the team duly managed to get just three points. In this league the Spencefield team avoided taking the bottom place with some notable wins towards the end of the season. So the Club has some silverware to show for the season. Congratulations to all who played in what proved to be an eventful season.
